17 February 2009 Hello thought i would give you a winter update. I am now back training, after the snow has gone and its starting to get a little warmer. I have started working technically on my swing and making some changes, along with a new gym programme. My season starts in May and I have set out some goals already for the year. My goals for the 2009 season are: · Reach peak physical fitness · Increase driving distance (currently 240 yards from tee) · Working to further enhance short-game I have a bolstered team behind me for 2009 and am working with a new coach David Fulcher, Sports Psychologist Danielle Bryant and Physiologist Ben Langdown, who is Head of Sports Science at the PGA; so this year looks like it will be a good one too! I am ultimately looking for a European Tour victory and I believe that the work im putting into my game this year with the support of my team I am working closely with will go great lengths to achieving this goal.
16 January 2009 Back on Tour!! I finished 38th at Tour School which means i have a conditional card so will get to play majority of tournaments on the European Tour. So i am very happy. I feel my game is realy strong now and i cant wait to get going in May for the first event. So for now its back home, to work on my game, fitness and mental side of it all. I am also planning another Golf Day so please let me know if your interested in playing. Also i am open for any sponsorship ideas or Company Days Please feel free to email me.

I would like to Thank my Sponsors TTI Inc, Bearwood Lakes Golf Club, Ben Langdown my Physiologist, Danielle Bryant my Psycologist and my family for all their support throughout the year. So Now im off to Spain today to La Manga where im competing to get my Tour card back for the European Tour 2009 season. I am exempt through first qualifying from my performance in the Challenge tour finising 10th on the OOM. So i am having a week of Practice in Spain to finely tune everything and then i start the Final Qualifying on 12th Jan. I ahve my Physiologist Ben coming out with me to help with my training and caddie for me. You can follow the reults on the Ladies European Tour website. Will keep you updated on my progress.
29 July 2008 Back in Sweden. I missed out on a place in The Open by 2 shots which was a shame. I shot 74, played well just did not take advantage of the reachable par 5's. So i jumped on a flight last night and i am now happy to be in Stockholm again. I played Smadalaro Golf Club today where the tournament is and its a beautiful 9 hole golf course. It is set around some gorgeous lakes and the holes are quite tricky. They are not allowd to water the golf course so its very dry. I hit a 5 iron today over 200 yards, that gym work is paying off!! So i think it will be a fun week, the greens are really good and they are holding so thats helps when the fairways are so bouncy. This tournament is very diffferent to a normal event, not only are we playing a 9 hole course but the format is a modified Stableford. So the points work like this: +8 Albatross, +5 Eagle, +2 Birdie, 0 Par, -1 Bogey, -3 Double bogey and more. Thought i would let you know if anyone watches the scoring as its going to look very different. I play at 8:50 tomorrow morning. Let the points begin.
22 July 2008 I have more good news. I qualified through first stage of the Womens British Open. It was played at the Berkshire golf club. I shot 75 and i did not think that would make the top 25 but it did, right on the mark. So after 2nd in Finland and getting through to Final Qualifying for the open i am very happy. The final stage is at the Berkshire again on Monday 28th July, the Womens British Open is at Sunningdale this year, so fingers crossed i will be playing. I last played the Open 5 years ago at Royal Lytham & St annes, and loved every minute of it but the chance to play this year with my current form and the more experience i have now would be a dream. I have Ben coming down to Caddie for me, my Physical Trainer. He has caddied for me quite alot over the last 2 years and knows my game well, so we will be a good team out there on Monday giving me the best chance of getting through. I play at 11:10, you can follow the scores on www.lgu.org.
14 July 2008 Two under par last round and i jumped up to tied 2nd. This is my best tournament finish this year so i am very excited. The winner Zuzana Masinova shot 65 in the final round so there wasnt much i could do about that. I started the day 2 over after 7, but i kept patient as i was playing well. I then went birdie, birdie on 8 and 9 and saw on the leaderboard i was right back in the hunt. I made 2 birdies on the back nine, one coming at hole 16 which put me to tied 2nd place. So to finish 2nd was a great result and i have now moved up to 3rd on the SAS Masters order of merit. So close to that top 2 automatic cards for the European tour next season. I have 8 events left so i am striving towards winning one.
12 July 2008 Im tied 5th! I shot another 72 today, but it was very different to yesterday. My long game was great i did not miss a fairway and i hit 15 greens, but i did not hole as many putts. I still putted well just kept coming up short or lipping out for the birdies. So i am happy with my game just have to be patient tomoorrow on the greens. It did not rain in the end infact it was another sunny day in Finland so that was a relief not having to juggle the umbrella, towell and clubs all at once. I am playing at 10:00 tomorrow and i am 4 shots behind the lead so it will be an exciting day, you never know what might happen in this game.
11 July 2008 Greetings from Finland. Played my first round today and shot 72. So a good start to the tournament. I am playing at Aura golf which is in Turku, 2hours west of Helsinki. The course is in great condition, the greens are very true and i putted very good on them today. The first five holes are very tricky, lots of big oak trees planted in the middle of the fairways so position is the key. My game is in good shape and so am i. Looking forward to a good day tomorrow. I play at 10:10. We may be getting some English weather tomorrow.. rain :-(
06 July 2008 I am back in the UK now, but not for long, fly to Finland on Tuesday for the next SAS Masters Tour event. I finished my week in sweden with another 71 and crept up to 8th place which was a great result after my first round. I am really enjoying playing the SAS Masters tour, it is giving me alot of confidence back, the girls are really friendly out there and Sweden is a beautiful country, with great weather this year. It has been over 25 degrees out there every day, perfect golf weather. Just hoping there is less wind in Finland. My final day in sweden was quite eventful, i played great golf, made some crucial Up and Downs and kept things very steady. My friend Emma Weeks caddied for me as unfortunetly she missed the cut, so that was nice to have an all england team against the Swedes. After the round i went back to Henrik and Susie house where i was staying again in stockholm to collect my luggage for the airport. I was outside packing my Golf Clubs up and i heard a bang the wind had blew the door shut, but to my horror this door needed a key to open it and guess what, yes the key was in my bag in the house. Oh no was a mild way of putting it. So i was left outside with no phone, passport and no way of getting in the house. Luckily Emma was with me and she had her phone so i had to disturb my Mum on the golf course to track down my Dad to call Henrik (who was 5 hours away on vacation with his family) to see what options i had. The result was i had to break a window to get into the house or miss my flight! So we used a golf umbrella and smashed a small window in the basement and climbed through to find the keys. I felt awful that Henrik and Susie have been so kind to me out in Sweden and now i smashed their window. But they were very sympathetic which was good. So i managed to make my flight and get back to heathrow safely. So sorry again, Henrik and Susie.
04 July 2008 I shot 71 today and have moved up to 15th position, so i am alot happier. We still had alot of wind today here in Sweden but i learnt my lesson yesterday and got all my club selections corect today. I was vey happy with my game today i just didnt make all the birdies i could of done, so im hoping they will all come tomorrow. I tee off at 9:39.
03 July 2008 What a day! I played my first round today out in sweden and had a disappointing 78. The first 9 holes were a struggle, it was very windy today at Kungsengen Golf Club ( 20km north of stockholm) and the first 9 holes are all into the wind, i started to lose my timing in my golf swing and also kept selecting the wrong club. It is tough when its so windy to get the club selection right, but today it seemed i could never get it right. Finally at the 9th hole things started to look up i just missed a 6ft putt for birdie and then made birdie on 10. I played the back 9 in one under, and i was pleased that most of the holes were down wind! I got my rhythm back and things were back to playing good golf. My best shot of the day was from out of a water hazard just right of the 12th green, i had a bad drive left and was in thick rough, i punched a 7 iron out towards the green but it kicked right and luckily i just stayed out of the deep water. I decided to play the shot as there was a small amount of water under the ball, i chipped this ball and it was fantastic it nearly went in the hole so i had a tap in for an interesting par.I finished my round and went straight to the range and got my swing slower and in control again. So i am now looking forward to beating that front 9 tomorrow. I play at 10:20 tomorrow so hope you can follow me.
17 June 2008 The Portuguese Ladies Open took place at the Quita da Cima. The course was very nice and after a good practice round I was feeling very positive. I was drawn with Amanda Molke-Leth and Jo Morley, who I know well and both have had very successful careers on tour. During the first round I was -3 after 12 holes, things were going great and then I hit a bad 4 iron off a par 3 and got plugged deep in a bunker face, taking a double bogey. At the end of the round I finished on +1 but took away all of the positives from the day. I got off to a slow start on the second round where none of the putts were dropping. It got to the last three holes and there was a lot of pressure to make up on my score to bring me back to the right side of the cut-line. I finished with three birdies in a row, which was great, but unfortunately missed the cut by one shot. I am now back at home for two weeks of practice and preparation for the next event in Stockholm on the 3-5 July.
12 June 2008 After spending the weekend at home I am now in Portugal for the week playing in a Pro-am event for a charity involved with supporting underprivileged children in the area. I was invited over by Liz Esterl, who now lives here and plays on the Ladies European Tour. The event is taking place at the Ocean Course at Vale do Lobo – a very long course next to the sea. Also this week it is the Portuguese Ladies Open, a European tour event that I am playing in.
07 June 2008 This week I finished 14th. I shot rounds of 74,77 & 75 finishing with a total of +7. I was very happy with the way I played, but found that the back nine holes were a lot tougher than the front nine. To put this into context my front nine total over the three days was –6. I woke up on the second day with a bad neck which was effecting my range of movement so had to find a physiotherapist after the round in the centre of Stockholm. Things like this happen from time to time and when they do its really important to take extra care in warming up before starting to play to prevent more serious injury.
02 June 2008 I arrived in Sweden yesterday evening and am staying in downtown Stockholm in a very nice apartment owned by Henrik's (a work colleague of my fathers) mother-in-law. This week I am playing at Botkyrka Golf Course and I played a practice round there today. The course is very tight off the tee so accuracy is key - you certainly pay for any mistakes. The greens are very intersting with a lot of slopes, in fact the entire course is up and down so a test of endurance to walk around it too. After the obligatory warm-up I played the full 18 holes and then finished the day with an hour on long game practice and an hour on the putting green. Tomorrow morning I will be playing in the pro-am event, the bad news of this is that i have to get up at 5:00am - but it will be good to get another round in before the event starts on Wednesday.
16 May 2008 The first event on the SaS Masters tour was a great success for me. After three days of solid playing I finished in third place with a total score of 5 over par. The event was split over two courses - First and third days at the Barseback and the second day at the St Ibb - which gave an interesting challenge. The Barseback course is very long with very quick, undulating greens while St Ibb was a little slower and much shorter. I really enjoyed the whole week and it was great to see the hard work both on and off the course with psychology and practicing paying off. Working with psychologist Danielle Bryant has been a major contributing factor to my confidence and approach to the game recently. My first impressions of the SaS Masters tour is that it’s very well organised and there are some very good players to compete against. I’m really looking forward to the next event in Stockholm which starts in three weeks time.
06 May 2008 Greetings from Sweden! I arrived in Sweden on Sunday and have spent the last two days practicing and getting refreshed with Barseback Golf Club. I have played here before in a European Tour event. The course is fantastic, a real challenge. It is set right next to the sea so you never know what weather you're going to get. The greens are fantastic, best I have played on all year and so far the putts have been dropping. Last week I played in Scotland at Loch Lomond. I got into the Ladies European Event last minute. I received a phone call on Tuesday morning to say that some players had withdrawn and I was in. So I got all my kit together and drove 6 hours to the venue. Unfortunately I did not play to my best and missed the cut. But it was great to compete and warm up for this week. And I could take a lot of positives from Scotland including Birdies on the last 2 holes on the second day, which are very tough holes. This week I am staying in Viken which is an old Fishing Village, it is very beautiful. My Father’s Boss, Henrik, has kindly let me stay in his summerhouse for the week there. I start on Thursday so another days practice tomorrow and then im ready to go! ,
25 April 2008 I played in my first tournament of the year last Saturday, the Roehampton Gold Cup and finished 3rd. which I was really pleased with. The weather conditions were not very good, wind and rain. But I Battled through and shot 73, 77. There were around 20 pros playing amongst some friends, which was nice to see them after the winter season. I then went to Portugal last Wednesday to get some warm weather intense practice done! 0ne week out there of practice is equivalent to 4 weeks of practice in England. It was fantastic I stayed at Barringtons Resort where the England football and rugby teams go to train sometimes. My friend Elizabeth Esterl and her Boyfriend run the hotel so she was out there too along with Ellen Smets, so we played some good competitive golf together. We played on Vale do Lobo Royal, Silves Golf Club and San Lorenzo, which is my favourite course out in Portugal. Being golf pro you do get some perks with the golf club’s wavering the 200 euro green fee!!! So I am feeling really good going into my first tournament after lots of great practice and good weather, just hope it’s nice in Sweden Now! I start playing in Sweden May 8th so you can follow me on the SAS Masters website, linked in my website. I will let you know how it’s all going and what the tour is like out there as it’s my first time! Bye for now!
07 April 2008 During the winter I have been working hard on swing changes and impact position. I have also been working harder on my fitness with personal trainer Ben Langdown who is head of sports science for the PGA. Twice a week core stability training mixed with upper and lower body strengthening is certainly paying dividends, and I am seeing the results already by adding on the yards.

Now that the evenings are a little lighter, I am practicing hard at home for the first event in Malmo, Sweden and spending time polishing up my game for what plans to be an exciting season ahead.

My first tournament starts on the 8th May, you can follow my progress through this site or at http://masters.golf.se

Thanks very much for your continued support.

Sarah.
